Rosalind Brenner

Critics consider Rosalind a poet and painter of energy. Her art, both process and result, is an expression of a mining of observation, exploration of symbol, color, form, shape, imagery and wild imaginings. She is an arbiter of spontaneity and control, always reaching for the edges of plasticity, pushing line and form. Using and combining mediums, she achieves a tactility and fluidity which she layers, building always on the play between depth and two dimensionality. In her visual art she will often start with words, which become a calligraphic design element of the work, no longer readable, but adding a curious mix of in and out that draws forth a deep observation of the picture plane as she layers it further. Her poetry is lyric and narrative and creates a visual feast as she shapes words into imagistic landscape. The work evolves into strength of statement as well as a field into which to travel.

Artist and Poet, Rosalind Brenner's creativity manifests itself in many different ways, from painting, monotype and collage to glass work and poetry. Her wide range of mediums portray her inner imaginings and emotions in a multitude of ways. Often having dialogues with one another they all follow her conscious and sometimes subconscious mind on its exploratory path.
